The U.S. Forest Service is offering a limited number of permits to hunt antlerless deer during the general season Nov. 5, 2005 through Jan. 8, 2006.
This year, three additional areas have been added for antlerless hunting. The Sabine National Forest and the Angelina National Forest will offer a limited number of doe permits for forest areas outside Wildlife Management Areas (WMA). In the Davy Crockett National Forest, the Alabama Creek WMA will also be available this year for antlerless hunting permits. In all cases, hunters must clearly identify the specific area where they wish to hunt.
