Provides first person living history presentations. Also provides 1800's campsites, and chuckwagon programs and Biographies of some famous 1800's Texans.

Texana Living History Association, a non-profit organization, provides a unique blend of entertainment, education, history and performing arts by portraying legendary Texans. Some of these are well known Texas heroes and some are lesser known, but heroes just the same. In addition to specific Historic Characters, many of our volunteers have also developed fictional Composite Characters who can relay history as it was experienced by numerous Texas pioneers.

After in-depth research of the character, surrounding events, and clothing of that time period, the volunteer tells their character’s story in the first person. As they unveil the hidden truths about Texas history and the personalities, who shaped it, you will laugh, cry, ponder, even clear up a fact or two.

The performance format can very from casual “meet and greets,” through individual monologues, to formal staged productions. We also offer customized Pioneer and/or Chuck Wagon Campsites as well as numerous Pioneer Life Skills and Crafts Demonstrations and Workshops. Programs may be tailored to accommodate audiences from children to seniors. Our programs meet many of the TEKS and TAKS curriculum objectives. Fourth grade and seventh grade gain special benefits as related to Texas History.

Texana’s credits include public and private schools, Scouts, numerous historical organizations, cultural festivals, corporate dinners, debutante receptions, fund raisers, parties, teacher workshops, etc.

Add donations are deductible to the fullest extent of allowed by law.
