The airport opened in October, 1992 to serve a rapidly growing area. It has been designed for expansion in order to meet future aeronautical business and traffic needs. The runway, taxiway and ramp have recently been resurfaced. There are plans to extend the runway to 6,500 feet. With this commitment, the airport has grown from 19-based aircraft in 1992 to 102-based aircraft presently.
