Waxahachie Chautauqua Auditorium, an unusual octagon-shaped 2500-seat open-air auditorium, was built in 1902 to accommodate the throngs of people attending the annual Chautauqua Assemblies of education, culture, art, and recreation. Includes dates and program for upcoming meeting, highlights and programs of early assemblies and links to national Chatauqua movement.

Our Mission Statement
To be an advocate for the restoration, preservation, maintenance, and use of the Waxahachie Chautauqua Auditorium and Getzendaner Park
To produce events (including an annual Assembly at the Chautauqua Auditorium and Getzendaner Park) that encourage lifelong learning and have the goal of improving the mind, body and spirit through a mixture of experiences in the arts, education, religion and recreation
To gather and disseminate historical and current information on the Chautauqua movement
