| | | | Site Information | | | Focusing on self-taught artists, the gallery houses the Webb Photo Archive and Library, one of the most extensive and current collections of folk art ephemera in Texas. Location, hours, schedule of events and exhibits, photos and artists information.
| Webb Gallery was born in Waxahachie, Texas in 1987. What started as a passion for old handmade items such as painted or repaired objects, fraternal lodge items, tramp art, memory jugs, and quilts, became a continuous quest for the unusual. The Webbs have been crisscrossing Texas, the South, and the Midwest in search of the miraculous for more than a decade.
In 1989, the Webbs began the inevitable evolution of searching for self-taught artists to collect their creations and document their stories. In addition to obcessively collecting, Bruce & Julie lecture and curate exhibits in schools, universities, and museums across the country.
Webb Gallery houses a huge collection of self taught art, old fraternal lodge objects, and vintage anonymous art. Webb Gallery often hosts events, including films, musical performances, speakers, and socials. Webb Gallery is now housed in a 10,000 square foot cast-iron-front building 30 miles south of Dallas on I-35. See a detailed map.
Exhibits of artwork by national and regional artists change frequently.
