| Over the years flats boats have changed from the original flat bottom scooters. Here at Mowdy Boats we make a wide range of high performance, shallow water boats. All of our boats have hulls that are solid foam filled and completely unsinkable. With the low sides it is also impossible to swamp a Mowdy Boat. Fishing boats have come a long way over the past years and at Mowdy Boats we try to stay in front of the pack.
The all new C-25 is a 25’6” long 8’6” wide modified split-V cat hull. The C-25 requires an outboard motor between 150 and 250 horsepower, it can also be set up for twin engines. The C-25 handles rough water extremely well and has a very dry ride. The boat is very stable in the water and has an incredible amount of deck space. The C-25 runs easy in the water. The boat without a t-top runs 48 mph with a 200 hp Yamaha. The C-25 with a t-top and decked out will run 46 mph with a 225 hp Yamaha. The C-25 will run on a plane in around 8-9", drift in 9-10 and take off in 14-15 with a hard sand bottom. With the C-25 you can fish the flats, bays, surf and off shore.
Our V-22 is a 22’6” long 7’8” wide V-bottom boat with a tunnel. The V-22 requires an outboard motor between 115 and 200 H.P., most people have a 115 to a 175. This boat handles rough water extremely well and has a very dry ride. The V-22 runs very shallow ( draft is approximately 8”; take off is approximately 13” with a hard bottom. Planing depth is approximately 8” without hitting bottom ). With the V-22 you can fish the flats, the bays, the surf, and even off shore.
The P-18 is a 18’6” long 7’8” wide boat based on our V-22, it has a V-bottom with a tunnel. The P-18 requires an outboard motor between 90 and 130 H.P.. This boat runs well with any motor in this range. The P-18 handles rough water very well and has a very dry ride. The shallow water specs are about the same as the V-22.
The V-18 is a 18’6” long 7’9” wide boat with a shallow V-bow, a rounded bottom, tunnel and a key slot transom. It requires a 90-130 H.P. motor. The V-18 handles rough water well and runs extremely shallow ( draft is approximately 7”, take off is approximately 12” with a hard bottom, and planing depth is approximately 6” ).
The S-10 is a 10’9’ long 5’7” wide scooter with an almost flat bottom and a tunnel. It requires a 20-30 H.P. motor with a short shaft (15"). The S-10 fishes 1 or 2 people and runs extremely shallow ( draft is approximately 4”, take off is approximately 8” with a hard bottom, and planing depth is approximately 3-4” ). The boat is light enough for 1 person to drag to deeper water if the boat gets stuck.
