Welcome to the Matt Family Orchard. We are a family owned and operated pick-your-own orchard and nursery. Matt Family Orchard is located 30 miles northwest of Houston off Highway 290. In 1996 we purchased 84 acres of an undeveloped airplane landing strip. We also started the installation of an irrigation system with nine miles of buried irrigation pipe. We planted our first tree in the spring of 1997 and today we have 22 acres planted with thornless blackberries, figs, jujube (Asian dates), Asian pears and Asian persimmons. In 1998 we added picnic facilities for over 100 people. In 2002 we built a barn and built real bathrooms.
