The Executive Service Corps of San Antonio (ESCSA) is a not-for-profit agency of volunteer business executives and professional people providing management consulting to other not-for-profit and publicly funded organizations. Executive Service Corps began when the International Executive Service Corps was formed in 1964. Then, retired senior executives were asked to assist developing countries in forming the infrastructure needed to build their economic strength and independence.
Subsequently, David Rockefeller and Frank Pace (Secretary of the Army in the Truman administration) realized that there was a need for a similar organization to provide management advice to the growing number of not-for-profit organizations and publicly funded agencies that were seeking to better the lives of their respective communities in the United States. Thus, the National ESC was founded in 1977.
Robert E. Goff, Louis Stumberg, Eddie Sullivan and other prominent businesspersons founded the Executive Service Corps of San Antonio (ESCSA) in 1987 and it has continued since then to provide management consultations and training to not-for-profit organizations and publicly funded agencies. Our goal is simple. We wish to alter outcomes through more effective application of donated and publicly allocated dollars to those organizations working toward bettering life for the citizens of greater San Antonio.
Since 1987, ESCSA has provided management consulting to a broad spectrum of agencies such as the Texas State Health Laboratories, private and public schools, social services agencies, churches, and a county law enforcement agency. Project areas include Accounting and Financial Management; Human Resources Planning and Development; Development of Policies, Charters, Job Descriptions, Operating Procedures, Performance Standards, Employee Handbooks and Supervisor’s Manuals; Organizational Effectiveness and Communications Training; Marketing; Strategic Planning; Information Technology Management; Facilities Management; Purchasing; and Inventory Control.
