Gone are the days when an undiscovered talent could go from street to lime light virtually overnight. All the stories you've heard about the gal singing at the corner store being suddenly discovered or the young good looking guy from Tennessee are virtually gone! Just about 20 years ago things were to the point that many could buy in for around $150,000.00 or more talent or not. What a shock to those poor broke talented artists. Talent didn't seem to matter any more. The industry was more about money and less about talent. After all talent could be developed and created.....ie: boy bands, etc. Sure you could still get in if you were tightly packaged. Again it was back to money. Get your act together, get a good sounding, well produced CD complete with professional packaging and shrink wrapped to boot! Then if you can get someone to distribute you, your on your way! Well not much there has changed but what has changed is technology. Now is the time for artists to pay attention. This is the best opportunity since the days of talent scouts.
