The Old Prague Market evolved from love of our heritage, Czechoslovakia - now the Czech Republic - and its rich culture of arts and crafts. Ten years ago, while visiting there, we realized how much our friends in the U.S. would love and appreciate the exceptional products we saw throughout the country. After our return to Texas, we ordered 150 unique, handmade Czech dolls through a new friend we had made in the Czech Republic.
The response to these beautiful dolls was so great (they sold out almost immediately) that we expanded our inventory, adding the famous Czech crystal and glassware to our product line. Again, the response was terrific. This led to our opening the Old Prague Market in 1995, in a charming historic building in downtown Pflugerville, Texas. We again expanded our product line, this time to other items from Czechoslovakia, as well as other countries.
