The Museum Of Cultural Arts, Houston (MOCAH)is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) cultural arts organization co-founded in 2000 by artists, Reginald and Rhonda Adams. The evolution of MOCAH began from the founders’ vision to create an arts institution without walls, an organization that will go to the people who are unable to come to MOCAH.
Since our inception in 2000, MOCAH has initiated three outreach programs to extend to underserved communities in the greater Houston area, particularly inner-city neighborhoods. These programs include but are not limited to; Art Angels Healing Arts Program, ArtworkZ Public Art & Design Program, Art Residencies in The Schools (ARTS).
Through our combined programs we have served over 17,500 at-risk and underserved youth in communities across Houston. The ARTS program has operated in over 20 public schools through the city. The ArtworkZ Public Art & Design program has commissioned over 35 professional and emerging artists to work with youth in designing and producing more than 50 murals and other public artworks strategically placed throughout Houston. Art Angels has exposed its health based art activities to over 7,500 children through community health fairs, school events and hospital visits.
