| If you are looking for a quiet place to rest, play, and renew, the Galbraith House should be your first choice in the Panhandle. This turn of the century, Texas Historic Landmark home is a treasure. The home has its original woodwork, including hand-selected Philippine mahogany throughout. The living and dining rooms are showcased by their original beveled glass picture windows and clear glass wall. The foyer is impressive and inviting with its huge mahogany doors and grand staircase. The mahogany lined library is striking and reminiscent to the movie scenes from early theatre with wood from floor to ceiling. The original leaded glass-fronted bookshelves are still intact and functional. The Florida room will take you back to a time when a winter trip to any Florida destination was a necessity for society folk. The second floor maintains the 1912 charm with its sleeping porch, sitting room, and gathering area. Feel free to sit on the front porch or sleeping porch and enjoy the cool breezes of the morning and evening.
The Galbraith House boasts six bedrooms all with private baths. In order to showcase the beauty of the architecture, the home is furnished in the true “craftsman style” in the main living areas and in more thematic furnishings in the bedrooms. All of the bedrooms in the main house are named and decorated with a Texas Panhandle theme. Each bedroom has a sitting area. As a full service inn, we provide indoor and outdoor wedding accommodations; host receptions, showers, and family gatherings; and provide conference accommodations. We can work with your individual needs for dinner parties, office parties/meetings, and many other functions.
