Sales of llamas near Abilene. Features llama links, bloodlines, and animals for sale.

Rainy Day Farms is located near Abilene, Texas in the Big Country of West Texas. Beginning in 1998, we began an endeavor to raise and breed the wonderfully unique Llama. We have attempted to obtain quality bloodlines in our acquisitions of breeding animals. We are proud to have breeding llamas boasting such bloodlines as Chief Sitting Bull, Chilean Leroy Brown, Benefico, LW Strawberry Field, RAR Richochet, as well as several Chilean and Bolivian influences.

One of the most frequent questions we receive is "what do you do with a llama?" These are just a few of the things you can do with llamas:

Show animals - llama shows are held throughout the nation in conjunction with many fairs and stock shows. Many of these shows are sanctioned by the Alpaca and Llama Show Association.

Guard animals - llamas are excellent guards for goat and sheep herds. They will protect the herd from many predators such as coyotes and dogs.

Pets - because of their docile mannerisms, calmness around children, and intelligent qualities many people enjoy llamas simply for pets.

Wool production - llama wool can be spun and utilized similar to sheep wool.

Pack animals - many people use llamas as pack animals whether hunting, camping or just picnicing because they can carry large amounts of weight, are sure footed and have lower feed requirements than many animals.

Cart driving - llamas can be taught to pull small carts.

See our links below for a wealth of additional information about llamas.

As we continually upgrade our breeding program we will have available various llamas for sale. Currently, we have a female with male cria by her side for sale. All of the llamas for sale are registered with the International Lama Registry.
