Kerrville - The most prestigious and enduring association of Western Artists in the nation. Many of these talented artists have actually lived the cowboy life, and all of them are cowboys at heart. Located in the heart of the popular "Hill Country" region, only a short drive from San Antonio.

So just what’s in a name? Plenty, according to Rick Assunto, Executive Director of The Museum of Western Art, in Kerrville. For almost twenty years, the local facility was known far and wide as the Cowboy Artists of America Museum. Then, in 2002, under the previous director, the name was officially changed to the National Center for American Western Art. This was followed in quick succession in 2003 by the designation it now holds, The Museum of Western Art.
