originally conceived as a full length album, and then as a four song demo, the east of eden e.p. landed somewhere in between. out of some twenty plus songs recorded over the course of 2002, Jess and Britton selected six pieces that fit together as a whole. the result is a unique collection of original songs with an underlying, unifying spiritual theme.
about the songs:
-- the record begins with the sublime vineyard song, which is based on Psalm 80. the lyricist asks, "How much longer must we wait…" and moves through the human experience of the Psalmist and ends with the hope and revelation of Christ.
