| The Reverend John D. Gondol has been the Senior Pastor of First United Methodist Church of Kaufman, Texas since June of 1991. During that time, the church has grown approximately 15 percent. Dynamic growth throughout the area is expected over the next three to five years.

He graduated from Lawrence Technological University, Southfield, MI, in 1968, with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management. Prior to entering the ministry, John worked for General Motors Corporation in various capacities for 16 years. John is also a military veteran, having served as a flying officer in the U.S. Air Force from 1969 to 1975.

They are also the proud grandparents of Timothy, age four, and Brittlyn Rose, age four months.
John and Marilyn are both active in the Walk to Emmaus. Marilyn is a past Lay Director and is beginning a three-year term on the Board of Directors for the Dallas Emmaus Community. John has also worked to establish a cross-racial pulpit exchange and cooperative worship experiences with Bold Pilgrim Baptist Church of Kaufman.
Reverend Gondol has been active in school, civic, and county affairs. He proclaims God's love for all people and urges public officials to improve the quality of life for all residents through better access to quality health care, strengthening of the school system to benefit all children, and upgrading of help for the poor.
