The mission of the Aviation Heritage Association is to keep regional, national and international audiences apprised of the historical and significant role of the aviation industry in the local community. It also keeps them informed of current and future developments in the aviation industry.
The Aviation Heritage Association will strive to increase its draw as a regional, national and international tourism magnet, growing stronger in appeal-power every year, presenting an opportunity to showcase the local communities hospitality, visitor enjoyment assets and civic attributes, ultimately impacting the economic growth of the area.
OBJECTIVES
The Aviation Heritage Association will:
l. Plan, design and build the "Aviation Heritage Museum - Education and Training Center". The Association is dedicated to acquiring, preserving and exhibiting the historically significant aviation artifacts pertinent to the area. The museum will be of interest to local residents, tourists, the business community and the aviation industry.
2. Continue to promote the "Aviation Hall of Fame Program" to recognize individuals from the local community, who have made significant contributions to the aviation industry.
3. Utilize the resources of the community and the Association to promote educational programs, which will encourage individuals to develop skills in the field of aviation.
4. Develop, market and implement the annual "International Air Show" and strive to present only the highest quality events and activities, which will appeal to the broadest range of interests, age groups and income levels. Proceeds from the Air Show are dedicated to building the "Aviation Heritage Museum - Education and Training Center".
