The Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) is an Austin-based, statewide professional association dedicated to the development of economic and employment opportunities in Texas. TEDC provides information, educational and legislative services to nearly 900 members. Learn more about the services that TEDC provides in pursuit of its mission and read it's by-laws.
TEDC is a non-profit corporation. An executive committee and a board of directors provide management and oversight of the organization. A President/CEO manages the day-to-day operations of the Council with direction from the Board of Directors. TEDC's Austin location permits it to represent its members in state legislative and regulatory issues that affect economic development.
Membership
Any individual whose work or interests are concerned with industrial or economic development in Texas may be a member of TEDC. Applications for membership are reviewed and approved by a majority of the TEDC Board of Directors. Members are either Active or Volunteer members. Active members are generally full-time economic development professionals. Volunteer members have an interest in economic development but are not employed full-time in the profession. This category includes individuals who are active in economic development as volunteers, and/or appointed or elected officials within economic development organizations.
Active membership is $275 a year, while volunteer membership is $100.
