The Flying Scot is a strict "one-design" boat. As a result, Flying Scot #1 is still competitive with current production boats. The Flying Scot has stood the test of time for over 40 years.
Her features include room enough for eight adults, simplicity for single-handing, safety with positive flotation, and unmatched quality in construction. The ease of sailing a Flying Scot means that she is safe and fast on big water, yet small enough to be towed with a small car, and to be rigged, launched and retrieved by one person.
According to Sailing World, the Flying Scot class has the second most active racing program for a one-design monohull in the United States. This strong national organization also provides a ready market for used Scots and helps protect the owner's investment.
A bi-monthly publication, SCOTS 'N WATER, keeps owners in touch with each other and offers helpful hints, articles and race results.
New Flying Scots are backed with a limited warranty of five years on the hull and two years on the rigging. Additional information, including a VHS video tape, is available from Flying Scot Inc.
