The Texas Telephone Association, Inc., founded in 1905, is a trade association that represents the incumbent local exchange telephone companies of Texas. The mission of the TTA is to promote and enhance the performance of each member compan and protect the integrity of the local exchange telephone industry and the services offered within each company's certificated exchange areas within the State of Texas.
There are 62 incumbent companies providing local exchange service to more than 13 million access lines in 1,244 exchanges across Texas. The majority of our member companies serve fewer than 5,000 access lines each, and more than one-third of these companies are member-owned telephone cooperatives. Our largest member company, Southwestern Bell, serves approximately 77 percent of the access lines statewide, but these are concentrated in less than 50 percent of the geographic area of the state.
All TTA members ascribe to the TTA Code of Ethics that provides for the highest standard of customer service and professional conduct.
