Advocacy (Lobbying) is a multi-faceted profession involving research, analysis, monitoring/reporting, attending legislative or regulatory hearings, working with similar-interest parties and coalitions, advocating for clients and educating stakeholders (government officials, industry leaders, corporate officers, employees and the general public as necessary).
As a legitimate and necessary part of our democratic political process, our profession must be protected and nurtured.
Unfortunately, the general public often views the profession of lobbying quite negatively. As such, there is an even greater need and, indeed, obligation for professional lobbyists to exhibit our commitment to integrity and high ethical standards.
The Professional Advocacy Association of Texas is the Recognized statewide association of Texas lobbyists. We represent Texas Lobbyists' issues and concerns before the State Legislature, enhance the image of the public advocacy profession and serve as a trusted referral source to corporations seeking legislative representation.
