The Preston Ridge Jazz Quartet has been a premier jazz ensemble in Texas and the greater southwest since its inception in January, 2000. A versatile group of dynamic jazz artists, the PRJQ combines the raw excitement of swing with the restraint and class of the "cool jazz" era. Both jazz enthusiasts and casual listeners will appreciate the PRJQs unique interpretations of standard melodies and new, original compositions.
Collectively, the PRJQ represents more than four decades of experience as performers and educators at the college and secondary school level. Members of the group have performed with such notable musicians as Lena Horne, Sammy Davis Jr., Wynton Marsalis, Earl Hayes and Will Campbell.
The PRJQ performs frequently in clubs, restaurants, at private parties, and for corporate events.
