The Gibbs Memorial Library of today continues its purpose of serving the community as well as surrounding counties with books and other resources. Inside the building on display are portraits of Dr. Jasper Gibbs, Sallie Candler Gibbs, and Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Jones. A glass case in the foyer displays various family mementos including the family bible. These portraits and mementos bring forth the library's history for all visitors who enter its welcoming atmosphere. As quoted by Mrs. Charles Alderman, the Gibbs Memorial Library stands as an "enduring monument to the memory of Dr. and Mrs. Jasper Gibbs as well as the manifold generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Jones."
