During the October Wurstfest in 1964, a small group of artists began to discuss the need for an art league in New Braunfels, Texas. On January 28, 1965 the New Braunfels Art League became a reality. The organization has grown from the founding membership of thirty three to over four hundred. The objective of the art league is to promote interest and knowledge of art as well as to provide a forum for the exhibiting of the works of its members.
